Kitchen Mouse

Kitchen Mouse is one of my favorite brunch places in LA! They are a full vegetarian restaurant with a lot of vegan options. Everything is vegan with the option to add eggs. I’ve brought many non-vegan/vegetarian friends here and they loved it!

I’ve tried:

Mikey’s Chilaquiles – tortilla chips, enchilada sauce, black beans, cilantro cream, pepitas, house vegan queso, serrano slaw, avocado

Avocado TLT – avocado, cherry tomatoes, & tempeh served open-faced on millet and flax toast with dijon aioli, house side salad with sunflower brittle & tarragon balsamic

Moros Cakes – black bean & brown rice patties, cilantro serrano slaw with lime dressing, chipotle cream, cilantro ginger chutney

Jackfruit Crabby Cake Benedict – served on a bed of arugula with yellow bell hollandaise and pepper, corn, & celery relish, poached egg or avocado

House Pancakes – oat, buckwheat and corn our pancakes with seasonal fruit, toasted coconut, Vermont maple syrup

Avocado TLT 

After coming here multiple times, I’ve decided that my favorite items are Mikey’s Chilaquiles and Avocado TLT. The house vegan queso that comes on top of the chips in Mikey’s Chilaquiles is so creamy and cheesy. You can’t even tell that it’s not real cheese! The Avocado TLT may sound pretty basic, but the tempeh is so flavorful and I love the side salad with the sweet sunflowers that come on top. This dish is definitely lighter than the chilaquiles, but both are really good! Nothing on the menu will make you feel unhealthy after! I also love the cornbread they serve you with jam after you order and sit down. For dessert I’ve also tried their peanut butter & jelly thumbprint cookie. It’s small, but delicious. It’s the perfect bite size!

Just a heads up that this place gets super packed during the weekend! The line goes out the door. Parking may also not be the easiest since it’s street parking. I would advise to try to come early (opening – 9 AM or 10 AM) on the weekends or be prepared to wait!
